Kayla was in the kitchen making tea for her old neighbor, Mrs. Smith. At least that was what she told the old woman she was doing. What Kayla really was doing was listening in on her other neighbor's activities. She was crouched on the side of the wall with her ear pressed against it trying to get a clear idea of where exactly he was at the time. She'd been in the apartment only once before for less than five minutes so it wasn't very easy to get a clear picture. Even Kayla wasn't smart enough to remember all she had seen a couple of months ago in such a short time.

Kayla strained, however, trying to search through her extensive memory for anything she could use. It was not easy though since from the living room she could hear Mrs. Smith talking too loudly. It was probably something about her antique dolls or maybe something else just as boring. Kayla regretted bringing her here in the first place but she needed an alibi if she was ever going to spy on her neighbor and Mrs. Smith with her bad memory was the best person for that.

"How's that tea coming dear?" It was Mrs. Smith again.

Kayla groaned when she realized that she hadn't even made it. She got up from her spot and went across the room to make the tea. She wasn't sure what she was doing though since she was still trying as hard as she could to listen to any suspicious sounds from next door. She couldn't be sure but she had a feeling that she'd put in a spoon of salt instead of sugar. It didn't matter though. The elderly woman would probably not even notice.
