Rose was early for her appointment. She always made sure to be early whenever she had an obligation and this being her first appointment wasn't very different. The same couldn't be said for the doctor though. An hour had already gone by and for some reason he hadn't shown up yet. It made her feel upset and at the same time wonder why she had even come to this hospital in the first place. Her friends had assured her he was the best doctor for her when they gave her his number but it seemed that they had been wrong all along. She couldn't wait to get back home and tear them a new one.

Most people would have gone back home by now after their appointment was delayed so much but not Rose. Rose would rather have stayed at the hospital than go anywhere else. Besides, she'd prepaid for the whole affair and she wasn't one to let her money no matter how little went to waste. It wasn't like she had anything better to do anyway. Her kids were at school and her husband at work and besides the chores she had to do, all she could have done was sit home drinking a glass of wine while wondering where her life went wrong.

Rose had never really wanted her life to end up like this. At least not with the person she used to be when she was younger. None of her friends would have seen it coming. All Rose had going for her now was a boring marriage to a boring man and the worst sex life imaginable. Years before Rose used to be very ambitious. Even as a little girl when all she had wised for was to become the president of her country. She had been voted most likely to succeed when in high school. All that changed however when she got pregnant. She had had to postpone her dreams to raise her children and though she loved them dearly, she still wished she hadn't given up. She'd married Brian only because she was pregnant. Another mistake she had made. Brian had never been supportive of her even for a single moment during their marriage. His vision of a perfect wife was always one who would stay home and look after the kids and though she didn't mind doing that, she had nothing going for her personally and it bothered her that her friends with their careers lived the kind of life that she had always imagined for herself.
